As per DSM V...Children with ASD have difficulty in social communication and interaction with others, restricted interests, and repetitive behaviors thus affecting functioning in school and other work areas. Whereas children with ADHD are inattentive, impulsive, or hyperactive. But when I see a child with ADHD, they do have repetitive behaviors, difficulties in social interaction, have specific/ no interests.
On the other hand, when I see a child with ASD, I find them hyperactive (may not be too much), inattentive (may give attention but limited), and impulsive (maybe not be too much). The same is the comparison of Social Communication Disorder (Previously known as Aspergers) the only difference is LESS SEVERITY.
May Allah SWT bless us with patience, wisdom, and strength to put in our best for these children.

These features keep changing, increasing or decreasing, depending on working in different environments where the child is exposed. So the diagnosis of a child may change after some period.
Since there is no approved specific treatment strategy separately for SCD, ADD, ASD, or ADHD, then to me it hardly matters what the child is labeled as...they get better if we focus on their autistic features with understanding and controlling the factors triggering/ aggravating them. Definitely a consistent effort for a prolonged time is required to fade ASD features and develop typical learning patterns in them.
