A child with ASD may adopt toe walking at an early stage as a repetitive behavior. If focused at the initial stage the pattern changes within a few days. Depending upon the severity of the autistic features it may get strengthened over the period.
A child starts toe walking due to the hyperactivity shown in running, while running the toe touches the ground. Repetition of this behavior for more time of the day the brain adopts it as a pattern for walking as well.
May Allah SWT bless us with patience, wisdom, and strength to put in our best for these children.

To reduce the toe walk it is important to control hyperactivity and reduce repetitiveness throughout the day. Moreover practicing slow walking for maximum time or in specific environments helps in changing this behavior.
The child keeps the same posture of feet while walking and thus goes into toe walking. Sometimes the child fixates on some specific environment as well, thus making the walk an environmental behavior.
